By “combo” I mean combination, there is a new type of bed liner that set to take the bed liner market by storm that uses “dual technologies” or a combination of technologies to give you the best bed liner ever. The sidewalls are made from similar technology as the drop in bed liner, the difference is what elevates this new bed liner to the highest level of protection ever offered. The old drop in bed liners were a one piece universal application that was well known for shifting around in the back of the truck as you were driving. One of the improvements to this type of bed liner was making it into a multiple piece system that each panel fit exactly to the contour of the specific make and model of truck, the other improvement was to utilize the rubber mat to cover the bed and hold it in place with a channel that was built into each of the sidewall pieces.
Rubber soaks up impacts to prevent dents.  With both plastic liners and bed mats, part of the way they protect from dents is by spreading impact hits over a larger area. Hit the plastic or rubber and the impact force gets distributed over a wide area, instead of being concentrated at one specific point. That’s why you get few if any dents under plastic liners or mats.
Dual Liner’s Zero Skid bed mat is a full 3/8ths of an inch thick, scratches cannot get past the rubber. The rubber itself is hard to scratch for one thing. It is all but impossible to cut through thick rubber to the metal beneath. That means any possible scratches and scrape marks also get soaked up by the material of the mats before making it to the bed itself.
Permanent liners have a place, but sometimes temporary wins out. Mats go in easy and slip out in a minute. That means the mat can be stored out of the truck and only put in when needed, if that is what you prefer. Sometimes that happens because water pools out of sight underneath plastic liners. The water pools if undetected lead to rust and corrosion. Standard bed mats would also trap water under neath because they laid directly on the sheet metal, Dual Liner took care of both of these fault’s by raising the Zero Skid mat up off from the trucks bed with hundreds of nubs built on the underside. This created an airspace that allows between the mat and the truck bed to breath and it also allows water to drain out of the factory designated drain holes.

Where the Dual Liner may be most valuable is over other types of liners. Since the Dual Liner offers so much protection at such a low cost, it just makes good since to use a 5 piece component bed liner over a more expensive liner. The Zero Skid Mat then offers by far the most cargo protection by serving as a cushion as well as an apparatus to keep the cargo from sliding around.
