Chevrolet Bed Liner Options
There is probably several reasons why you bought a Chevrolet Truck, I would have to assume that most truck owners want the ability to haul items that are either to big or to heavy to carry in a car (that only seems logical), otherwise they would own cars. At some point the Chevrolet Truck was more appealing, maybe it had a higher tow rating, or more creature comforts. What ever that reason is, it was important enough to you to decide what truck you were going to purchase. Now that you purchased a Chevrolet Truck there are several choices that you will have to make that will determine how long your truck will last and how well it will hold up for dependable use, as well as the resale value. One of the most important factors in the value of the truck is the overall condition of the trucks bed and box.
One of the major misconceptions that exists about the “spray on bed liners” is how they effect the trucks resale value. In a recent publication, the statistics for the length of average truck ownership was higher than ever, it was 63.9 months. This is a far cry from the levels it was in the past. Several years ago the average length of ownership was closer to 36 months. This makes a huge difference to the resale value of a truck with a “spray on bed liner” in it. Here’s why, the typical spray on bed liner is warrantied against bubbling and cracking, not fading. When the average truck owner owned his truck for only 36 months the spray on was in its early stages of fading. It did not look as bad at 36 months as it does at 63.9 months. At 63.9 the level of discoloration is multiplied by the fact that the bed liner has been deteriorate for three more years by the sun. There is a oily solution that can be applied that does slow down the “spray on” from deteriorating as fast but it turns your truck bed into a “greasy mess” in the mean time. Who wants to do that to there truck? Not Me!
Regardless of if you are looking to sell your truck or if you are trading it in, something will have to be done with the “spray on bed liner.” The biggest problem at that point is the fact that there is no good way to take it out. If you have a person that is looking to purchase it outright that doesn’t like the “spray on” then guess what? You will have to drop the price considerably to make the sale. If you are trading it in, they will see the condition of the “spray on” and determine that they will have to do something about it. Again this will definitely determine the value that they are willing to give you as credit for your trade, it is a loose, loose, situation.
By utilizing many advances in polyethylene Dual Liner has developed a bed liner that acts like a layer of armor against dents and scratches as well as protecting itself from any damage from harmful UV rays (due to the high level of black carbon). It is made from one of the strongest plastic compounds available, these polyethylene panels snap onto each of the sidewalls, the load guard and the tail gate. Each of the sidewall pieces fit exactly to the contour of the sheet metal and they have a channel that accepts the Zero Skid mat. This Zero Skid mat is 3/8ths of an inch thick (much thicker than any spray on), it is made using a rubber compound that remains tacky or sticky to hold your cargo in place. The Dual Liner comes with a lifetime warranty and it is transferable to the next owner, this acts in the opposite way of the “spray on” bed liner by actually increasing the value to either the dealer or the consumer. Since the Dual Liner offers the best dent protection and the best paint protection, it actually preserves the condition of the trucks box. This is very different from the “spray on” because of the fact that before it is sprayed in, the installer has to destroy the trucks finish with grinders to get the chemicals to adhere. That permanently alters the truck forever in a negative way. The Dual Liner offers more protection and can be taken out at any time.
Just like the many reasons that determined which truck you purchased, there are many reasons why the Dual Liner bed liner appeals to many truck owners and there trucks. The Dual Liner protects more than just your truck, it protects its resale as well. Dual Liner Bed Liner Systems, “The Only Bed Liner That Works.
